As I understand it USB-support in the 2.2.x kernel is marginal. On my system
(2.2.10) the USB port is detected, but I have nothing to test whether it
works. I've noticed that for the 2.3.x *development* kernel USB is one of
the main work-area's. There is some documentation that came with SuSE 6.1
about USB. Haven't read it though. Perhaps others on the list have more
detailed info.
