Did you read the README and the INSTALL file and did you run ./configure ??

Now someone else i think it was Ken, told you that what you are doing is
very dangerous indeed, if you want to be able to compile new programs with
glibc then i suggest you upgrade your whole system, it is in my option far
safer as a new commer to linux to install a system that includes glibc
support than to upgrade libs and possably render the system unbootable.
