Cntrl-Alt-Delete to log out of some window managers (Enlightenment
for sure)
Cntrl-Alt-BackSpace to dump X-Windows
Cntrl-Alt-F1 to get to the first Virtual Screen and log in
as a character based login.
Try'm in that order and see if any of these three work for you.
The first two will log you out of X-Windows. The third does
not but will get you to a prompt where you can kill other processes,
debug the system, or reboot if you need to (which you shouldn't).
