if you alreay have netscape installed, you will want to update instead of
installing
rpm -U /mnt/cdrom/updates/i386/netscape-communicator-4.04-3.i386.rpm
rpm -U /mnt/cdrom/updates/i386/netscape-common-4.04-3.i386.rpm
note that you can have "navigator" or "communicatior", not both. the
"common" package contains stuff used by both.
