Is this ascii? I thought I was typing that. Well, this kind of writing is
what I can do. Is this all right?
I did the 'mount /dev/cdrom /mnt' thing and got the error msg:
mount: can't find /dev/cdrom /mnt in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
Got up gedit and located '/dev/cdrom' in mtab. Don't know why it said what
it did. tried fstab and got the following msg:
fstype not supported by kernel
so went back to beginning and typed again
mount /dev/cdrom /mnt
got back
mount: block device /dev/cdrom is write-protected, mounting read only
mount: /dev/cdrom already mounted or busy.
mount: Accourding to mtab, /dev/hdc is already mounted on mnt.
All right, assuming that the 'mount' command is already as I interpret these
messages as apparently telling me, I go to the second command in the Quake
manual which says to type the following command:
# /bin/sh /mnt/setup
The 'root' prompt comes up and nothing else happens. This is where I am
stuck at right now.
Any ideas would help.
Thanks
