try cat /proc/pci or lspci -vv to check if you have an irq conflict. I had
this problem before.

Subject: PPP said 'modem is busy'.

Hello

PLEASE HELP ! /\ !

I am trying to dial out from by Linux box using Kppp but the program keeps
telling me that the 'modem is busy'. The same when I am trying just to 'talk
to the modem'.

Probably this is because I opted to have PPP server installed when
installing Linux. Now, how do I desactivate the PPP server to be able to
dial out ???

On the machine, there´s Linux and Windows 98. In the windows mode, my modem
and Internet access work OK.

Thanks for any help
Frank
