Don't have a sure answer, but I have a guess. The 7th line of "top" output is in reverse video, and problems with reverse video are common bugs in VT100 and VT102 emulators. I recall having this very same problem in the past, and I don't think I ever found a fix for it (other than using a different terminal emulator, of course).
