Wine is a program which allows you to run Windows programs in Linux, or
use Winelib to recompile Windows source to Linux with little
modifications.

>What are it's capabilities?

It is currently in alpha development and therefore not suitable for daily
use, but it can run many small programs very well, and some people use it
for day to day things. (For example, Lawson Whitney uses it for Juno
email) It can run both 16-bin and 32-applications with some success.
YMMV.

>How do you install it?

It depends, some distributions package it in RPMs (which are likely to be
out of date) in which case you just use the normal install. Otherwise you
can download .tar.gz binaries or compile the source yourself.
