        There are a couple of pieces of equipment that I'm thinking of
installing, but I want to check here and avoid some problems.  

        I'm looking for a CDwriter for my intel linux box.  Are there any out
there that I'm likely to run into campatibility problem with?  Any that people
have had good/bad luck with?

        In a similar vein.  I'm looking for a cable ready TV tuner that I could
install.  Again, any brands that I should avoid?
