        In this case you can go through mount if smbmount has also been
set up as mount.smbfs or you can call smbmount directly, you just have
to use the mount compatible syntax...

        smbmount //netbios/path /unix/path -o {smbmount-options}

        You'll need to look up all the mount options.  I don't remember
them off the top of my head.  There are things like "-o user=uid,group=gid",
etc, etc.  There should be a current manual page with the Samba 2.0.6
sources.
