I am learning more and more that getting mice to work w/ Linux is more of
an art of luck rather than a science of mousing. Despite having read
countless FAQs, HOWTOs and interrogating people in the #redhat/#linuxhelp
channels of EFnet, my mouse still doesn't work. This is strange because
the hardware is known to be good and it's simple. I have a serial
connector on the box, activated in BIOS as ttyS0(COM1). The mouse is an
oldskool MS serial mouse(the old ones from like 1990-that square look).

After spending hours trying to figure out WHAT setting is not correct, I
gave up in favor of coaxing one of my two pieces of junk I call NICs to
work. I will keep the list posted on WTF is going on. Course, that mail
will probably be something more for [EMAIL PROTECTED](Too bad
this list doesn't exist).

In any case, the idea that your trackball works with these settings
"wobble the mind" as Kelly Bundy might say.
