I have noticed this too and I never knew if it was a netscape bug or a
bug in my window manager. I use Slackware 7.0 and Blackbox WM. In my
case, simply switching to another "desktop" and switching right back
allows me to then fill in fields. I've learned to do all pull down
boxes on a form, then go BACK and fill in any fields requiring text.
I'm curious which distro of Linux you run and which WM?
