Two solutions:

1. Hit the SHIFT key or the TAB key and LILO will wait for you to type a
stanza name.

2. At the top of the file /etc/lilo.conf, add the line

        delay=##

replacing ## with the number of seconds you want lilo to wait. Then run lilo
so it updates the MBR.
