You did not mention the kernel version used, however the information given
"mandrake" 7.0 would indicate something like 2.2.14. I am a vivid reader of
the linux-kernel-mailing list, about 2 weeks ago there was a mail asking
the same question, for the life of me i cannot remember what the answer
was, however it was a very easy to do answer, some or other setting in the
proc filesystem.

Now all of the above is of absolutly no help to you, but, you may get an
answer concerning your problem if you write a small mail (say please) to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] you will possably need to subscribe first as
it is a very closely controled list.

O i think i remember now, something to do with bsd_comp, dam my memory
cells are failing.

I am sure some hacker on the mentioned list will point you to a decent
answer.

Or possably someone else here possably Ray will be able to help.
