The R610 is the 11th generation server replacement for the PE1950. Server
identification changed with the 10th generation PowerEdge server platforms.
I.E.

R = rack; M = blade or modular; T = tower
6 = server model
1 = indicates 11th generation
0 = indicates Intel based; 5 would indicate an AMD platform

Hope that helps!  :)

Subject: 1950 replacement

Hi,

What's a rough next generation replacement for the 1950 (ie 1U) the R610?

Dell don't exactly make server generation hierarchy obvious with them
being renamed each time!

cheers,

Barnaby
