That had no effect. I also tried rebooting the server, which also had no effect.
I also opened up the iDRAC web interface and I do not see the 2nd CPU at all!
It reports as if I only have 1 CPU installed.
Should I try to reseat the CPU in the socket? I'm at a loss here. While it's
working fine right now I wouldn't consider putting a server in production like
this.

Chris,

Odd output indeed. If your CPU appears to be ok, then have you tried restarting
all OMSA services?

/opt/dell/srvadmin/sbin/srvadmin-services.sh restart

I am running XenServer 6.5 as well, though using OMSA v8.1 and do not see what
you are seeing.

Subject: [Linux-PowerEdge] 2nd CPU status is Unknown

Hi, I have a PowerEdge R720 in which I have just installed a 2nd CPU. I am
running XenServer 6.5 on it, and I have the OpenManage 7.4 tools installed.
I ran the following:

# omreport chassis processors
Processors Information

Health : Ok

Index : 0
Status : Ok
Connector Name : CPU1
Processor Brand : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 0 @ 2.20GHz
Processor Version : Model 45 Stepping 7
Current Speed : 2200 MHz
State : Present
Core Count : 8

Index : 1
Status : Unknown
Connector Name : CPU2
Processor Brand : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 0 @ 2.20GHz
Processor Version : Model 45 Stepping 7
Current Speed : 2200 MHz
State : Unknown
Core Count : 8

As you can see, CPU 0 is fine, but CPU 1 shows a status of Unknown and state of
Unknown.
I should also note that the CPU appears to work fine. I started a VM configured
to use all 32 cores (16 not counting hyperthreading) and everything works fine,
and I can watch the OS using all of the cores, so I know code is executing on
it.

Any idea what's going on here?

Chris
