Hi Henrik,

Can you confirm which OS are you using?

Also provide the details of "'dsu --inventory'".

Subject: Re: [Linux-PowerEdge] PE R620, DSU and USB issue

Thank you. This fixed this issue!

A second issue has appeared. We have multiple R610's with 48GB of RAM each.
When I try to update them I get the error:

Enough contiguous physical memory is not available to perform the BIOS update
running under
this Operating System. Reboot and try again.

(See below.) Any ideas how to fix this? 48GB should be enough memory and the
system is quiescent with nothing running. It does say something about
"contiguous physical memory", but I am not sure how to address that issue.

Regards,
      - Henrik

Hi Henrik,

Yeah this is a known issue in DUP, which got fixed in latest one.

Here the DUP is checking for usb-storage driver whether its loaded or NOT, if
NOT they are just quitting as reported below.

Meanwhile I would request you to use the workaround as described below.

Workaround:

1. Modprobe usb-storage

2. Install the Diagnostics_Application_5W2KP_LN64_OSC_1.1_X10-00

We are running PowerEdge Server R620 with CentOS 7. When using DSU all
components, we get the error message in regards to USB not being enabled:

* Inventory Failure: USB is not enabled. Please enable USB and try
update again*

Except USB are enabled in the BIOS. How do I fix this?

The issues appears to be in the OS Collector.

[*]9 OS Collector
Current Version : 0 Upgrade to : OSC_1.1

Everything else updated(d) just fine.

Regards,
- Henrik
