Hi,

it seems the iDRAC started sending a domain name through dhcp:

DHCP4.OPTION[2]:                        domain_name = local

I am not sure where this is configured, and in earlier iDRAC versions there was no domain name being sent through dhcp. I tested:

4.00.00.00 (no domain name)

4.10.10.10 (no domain name)

4.20.20.20 (domain name local)

4.22.00.00 (domain name local)

this leads to some issues in rhel 7 when the os to idrac passthrough is activated and set to dhcp while the other normal network interfaces are configured static (overwriting of search domains) or when both are dhcp it will add local to searchdomains (creating additional dns traffic).

Is this done on purpose? I did not see anything in about this in release notes

Can I disable sending the domain name?

Can I change the domain name?

Klaas
