I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of an affect the stride option under ext2fs has for RAID 5 performance? I believe I understand the formula (RAID chunksize / ext2fs blocksize)= stride value (first I should ask if the above is correct). Second, on a real heavy random seek (i/o) system does using the stride value give any benefit? I am running an array right now (RAID5) without using it (forgot when I genned the array), and am looking for a performance increase. However I don't have the luxury to test out options as the array is in production use. Steve
