OK, no matter what I do or with any combo of drives I get this. I am running Mandrake 6.0 w/ kernel 2.2.12 (tried 2.2.9) with MD support and raid1 compiled in. Tried the mandrake rpm raid tools and raid tools 19990824 The /etc/raidtab is exactly like the howtos and examples are. I am trying to set up both a IDE and a SCSI raid1. --------------------------------- [root@www bbell]# mkraid /dev/md0 handling MD device /dev/md0 analyzing super-block disk 0: /dev/sda1, 4249161kB, raid superblock at 4249088kB disk 1: /dev/sdb1, 4249161kB, raid superblock at 4249088kB mkraid: aborted, see the syslog and /proc/mdstat for potential clues. --------------------------------- Checked /var/log/messages, dmesg, and mdstat. The only thing in mdstat is: cat mdstat Personalities : [3 raid1] read_ahead not set md0 : inactive md1 : inactive md2 : inactive md3 : inactive Am I missing the obvious??
