Is this true even for different classes of Mylex cards? i.e. Can a system
running an AcceleRAID 250 be upgraded to an ExtremeRAID (or vice versa)
simply by replacing the RAID card without having to rebuild/reformat the
array? That would make benchmarking the different controllers much
easier.
I don't know what the "official" answer is, but I have certainly moved a single
channel array between an AcceleRAID and an eXtremeRAID without problems im my
own testing. After doing so I always verify the transfer rate settings for
each channel and the BIOS Geometry, however.
