...and I appreciate the help you provided with that, but when I received
your mail, I had already taken the system down for rebuild :-(
Regarding the header file (I assume in /proc/ide) that can be used to
properly detect major and minor, if you can provide a short tutorial
(nothing fancy) to do so, I think I should be able to figure this out.
Regarding an updated MAKEDEV, the question begs itself WHERE I can find such
an updated beast?
