This may not apply, and I may not have done it correctly, but I have a
FastTrak (It only does 33).
Linux has support for the chipset utilized by the FastTrak, but at boot time
it can see both hard drives. I struggled for days trying to make it work as
a hardware RAID, but I never succeded.
My original intent was to use the FastTrak as a Hardware based controller,
but I had to end up using software raid which was not as transparent and
maintenance free.
I ended up buying a card from 3ware. For $105 I got a complete Hardware
based RAID 1 using IDE drives for a fraction of the price.
I still have the FastTrak, but I may just use it for a Windows machine,
where it is supported.
I hope this helps.
