Hi, I am trying to setup a dual bootable system with NT 4.0 and Linux(RedHat 5.2) on a 9.1 G (IBM UW 9ES SCSI). My SCSI adapter is Tekram's 390F (based on NCR 53c875 ). My internal CDROM drive is Plextor's UltraPlex (32x). I'm trying to install NT first. When I boot the PC (PII, 400 MHz) using the setup disk, it comes to the option to "press S for manual selection of mass storage/SCSI devices". I tried lowercase S and upper case S many times. It just does not respond. If I hit enter, it proceeds with autosetup. If I let is autodetect, it picks the wrong SCSI adapter (Symbios 810. My understanding is that NCR and Symbios are the same) and does not recognize the CDROM drive at all. I do have a driver for the adapter, but to load it, the "press S" option needs to work. Obviously I cannot install Linux first, and then NT because of MBR problems. Can someone help, please?! Thanks much!
