He (Tom) says that he checked termination. However, that is not easy to check.
I would first suggest making sure that a) you have active termination, and b)
you don't have passive termination enabled in one of the internal drives. This
sounds an aweful lot like a termination problem -- often an improperly
terminated SCSI bus will work well enough to get the intial INQUIRY info
across so that it shows up in /proc/scsi/scsi, but not well enough when you're
trying to send actual bulk data. I have also had similar problems (though not
so bad) when my SCSI cable was too long and I was not using LVD (Ultra 2),
which allows long SCSI cables. How long is your SCSI bus?
Or it could be a defective ADR50, as Karl said.
