Hallo!
I have a two PII 400Mhz debian-linux machine. I have a Iwill
motherboard with BIOS DBS100 v1.0. The problem is that the system
hangs random, without any message (each two days aproximately, but now
i have been running with the computer 6 days, and the problem doesn't
appear.)
. I have tested it with kernels
2.0.35, 2.1.105, 2.1.120....
I can reproduce the problem with a big ps archive and with the command
line gs -sDEVICE=ppmraw. With kernels 2.1.xxx, the system always
freeze, and with 2.0.35 the freeze is random.
I thought that it was a software problem, but when i stopped to use te
gs command line, the system freezes with the screen saver random.
I have 500M of memory and i have put the append=499M in the lilo.conf.
I have apply the mttr patch. I have put out the OS/2>64M, and the
memory hole at 15-16M, but the problem persists.
Now I have removed two DIMMS of 128 M and so now i have 250 M. The
problem continues. However once time, and i don�t know why, when I run
the gs -sDEVICE=ppmraw... the kernel gave this message:

I have searched documentation about all this problem, but i cannot
find a solution. (Maybe it's a bug?)
