(linux-2.2.0-final == linux-2.2.0) ?

After aplying the 2.2.0-pre9 patch to my kernel the output of uname
displays 2.2.0-final.  But that was before the announcement of 2.2.0.  So
have there been changes since the last pre9 patch and the actual, released
2.2.0?
