I'm trying to decide which CPU to order for my new SMP machine.
Do I understand right that the P-III are still running the cache
at half speed ?
The intel specification is very vague about this:
"The speed of the L2 cache scales with the processor core frequency."
If this is the case, are we going to see P-III Xeons ?
If not, then what's the difference ?
Is the only difference between the P-II and the P-III is the multimedia
externsions (the 70 new SIMD instructions) ?
