It's not quite that bad. I use 2.1.119 for an NFS/SMB server and
it's been 100% reliable for the month since I installed that kernel.
2.1.109 was 100% reliable for the month before that too. I wouldn't
hesitate to use 2.1.119 for mission-critical server; it's at least
as reliable as 2.0.3x.
(I'm using a Tyan S1563D, so I can't comment on the stability of
2.1 on the P6LX2-A.)
