Could you tell me the location of the latest SMP kernel that I could use
with Tyan S1662S/Dual Pentium Pro.
I loaded Red Hat Linux 5.2 onto my machine. Everything is working great.
Wanting to make full use of both processors I looked into rebuilding my
Linux 2.0.36-0.7 kernel with the SMP=1 in the makefile.
After doing some research about Linux SMP it seems that I might be better
off building the latest Linux kernel, which seems to be 2.1.79.
So is it the latest kernel?
Where do download the latest kernel?
Is working with the latest kernel any better that using my current
2.0.36-0.7 kernel for SMP?
Any help would be much appreciated.
