All I've ever seen with Linux support are scsi host adapters for fibre
channel arbitrated loop - my impression is there's less and less
marketing talk about other protocols (eg TCP/IP) over fibre channel. But
I'd be interested in hearing about FC network NIC's also.
For FC-AL scsi host adapters, we've had good experiences with QLogic
QLA2100 adapters (www.qlc.com). There's a very solid Linux driver
available from Matthew Jacob at www.feral.com. He doesn't have fabric
support in yet (I don't think - coming soon), but I've successfully used
4 linux boxes connected via a hub to a JBOD FC-AL disk chassis with this
driver.
