Yes. Well, if you need your serial card anyway :)
I had the same problem with Tyan Tomcat IV. (1564D). Flashed BIOS, and
IO-APIC pins above 15 disappeared. I've got reply on this list that this is
due to BIOS "fix" for some graphics card...
