Interesting - I'm currently using this same board on the v3.03 bios, and it
appears to have a BIOS bug when setting up the MPC table (it seems to ignore
the 5th pci slot, at least if there is something in the first as well). I'm
currently (slowly) working on a patch to allow overriding bits of the MPC on
the kernel command line (since in my case the pin is "connected" to the slot,
but the bios forgets to tell the kernel about it). I'll send you a copy when
I've finished it, since it also prints out a lot of debug about how the
interrupt lines are set up.
Regarding having your four-port serial card working again - presumably it isn't
plug'n'play - have you tried excluding those interrupts as "legacy ISA" in the
PCI/PNP section of the BIOS? I've no idea what interrupts it may move things to
though.
I'm certianly in even less of a hurry to flash up to the new bios now!
