I have had a similar expearance. my only expearance with Celerons has
been with 300As OC to 380Mhz to 450Mhz on single boards. While they were
blindingly fast on Quake, Half Life, etc (programs that dont fit into any
size cache), Windows feels about as slow as my old P-200. This isn't a
real problem for workstations, but for Servers, I would not put celerons
in. As far as feel goes my PII 300 felt quicker then a OC Celeron 450.
now I dont run Winblows anymore on my PII 300, my brother still has it on
his Celeron.
I think that Celerons are fine for low end workstations, or for those
other OSs that dont multi-task like Linux. for Servers, I wouldent toutch
a Celeron with a 10 foot poll
