Well I did my own benchmark and found the same thing. I took a
box running NT and a box running Linux to the top of a
tall building. I put the Linux box in the elevator and pushed
the first floor. Then I dropped the NT box off the roof.
You know what, "NT beat Linux!" (to the ground).
It all depends on what you measure.
