Yes. Similar setup to you. Twin Xeon III, 550's (512KB cache), 512MB RAM.
I had exactly this problem. I found that the board wouldn't run at 550MHz,
but reducing it to 515 (Bux speed 103, multiplier x5) made it rock solid.
I'm running Debian 2.1 with kernel 2.6.6 - using both SCSI channels with
software RAID and the on-board 100Mb ethernet.
I found that it would run with one processor at 550, but not both.
