If it really is a problem with the MP config block, I posted a patch to
the list a while back which may allow you to pass in the magic bits to
make the second cpu appear. I haven't tried adding cpus with it before,
but at the vvery least it would make an interesting test case. If you
don't have it saved anywhere I'll send it to you.
