John,

I have two that work just fine (and have since about kernel 2.1.99). 2
CPUs, onboard SCSI, onboard sound. No issues anywhere really. Reports seem
to indicate many others have no problems.

You do need ot be running a modern kernel, tho (2.2.x is a good idea). In
terms of distros, RedHat 6.x should work just fine.
