(I don't have much experience building SMP machines but I do have one running

If you are expecting UDMA/66 (?) to work happily with Linux, you should be
careful... you need to patch your kernel and even then, it may not work.
However, everything is backwards compatible so it should be okay.

My understanding is that the 509's are better-supported than the 905's. This
could simply be a rumour or a drugged hallucination.

It's almost impossible to find anything slower than 450 for sale any more. 466
seems to be the sweet spot. If you can find two celeron 366's for sale NEW,
great.

I'd pick up some thermal paste as well (Radio Shack sells it as heatsink
compound for a few bucks). Also, I see no reason to go for PC-133 RAM as the
celerons run at 66 Mhz FSB. Still, it may be worth it for you. Please note
that while some people find the BP6 dual-celeron system very overclockable, it
is harder to do than a regular system. In addition, heat can be a serious
problem, more so than a regular single-cpu system. For this reason, I wouldn't
count on being able to overclock if I was you.
