Save yourself many hours of pain and use a newer distribution. like redhat
6.1. I really can't see a reason why anyone would want to be using the older
2.0.x kernels in smp now, along with many other older things found in rh
5.2. 

btw, you can buy copies of all distributions for like $5 at linuxmall.com or
cheapbytes.com. I've had very good luck with cheapbytes.com for about 3 yrs.
