Hi all,

This is not a strictly SMP-related question, so please forgive me.
Still, it regards configuring a SMP machine and also, I *really*
tried comp.os.linux.networking, but with no response at all.
And you SMP gurus are so smart ;-))

I've been using 'amd' on a dozen of PCs running RedHat 5.2 and
'automount' on Solaris Sparcs for quite a long time. All machines
can access all disks on other machines through auto-mounted NFS.

Now I am about to install RH 6.2 on a 2x700 MHz PIII Coppermine host.
6.2 offers both new version of 'amd' (am-utils RPM) and 'automount'
(autofs RPM). The latter is somewhat limited as compared with Solaris
(e.g. lacks direct mounts) but in principle I could configure both to
work with my network environment.

This machine will use NFS intensively, so I'd like to have it
as robust as possible.

Any experiences/hints regarding usage, reliability, performance etc. of
these two automounters will be appreciated,

regards, Michal.
