Well, I'm here to report success on my Dual-PPro system
with RedHat 6.2. I did a custom text-based install and it's
now running on BOTH processors w/o kernel recompilation. I
installed everything but the proverbial kitchen sink.
The ONLY problem I had was with ownership of my home
directory. For some reason my home directory (and thus
everything under it, ESPECIALLY the "dot" directories, such
as ".netscape", .kde, etc) was owned by user "wxyz" when it
should have been owned by "john."
Oh, well... it took awhile as root to chown every directory
and every file back to my ownership, but it's working
now... dunno WHY it made someone else owner of "~/john" but
it did....it MAY have had something to do with the fact
that the /home directory was a partition left over from my
Mandrake 6.0 install about 6 months ago... Oh, well.. as I
said, most everything is working now...
