HP Vectra XU with 2xPPro at 200 MHz. One stepping 06 one 07.
2.2.14-5 panics after:
enabling symmetric IO mode... ...done.
ENABLING IO-APIC IRQs
...changing IO-APIC physical APIC ID to 16
Kernel panic: could not set ID
Boots with noapic .. the box has been reported to run under an older
SMP Kernel on SuSE, I am sorry I cannot tell which kernel it exactly was.
Some 2.2 at least.
We try to get two CPUs at same stepping.
Any other solution, suggest?
