I've got a similar setup, except both of my PPRo processors
are the same stepping. I've read that to get two PPro (and
most other smp-capable processors) to work together that
they HAVE to be the same stepping.
As for the "noapic" I'm not sure. I have the same problem
-- it will freak out on checking the IDE channels if I
don't have "noapic" in there.
I'm told that some chipsets are kinda picky, and changing
motherboards MIGHT fix it....
