I think that ATM the only smp capable kernels are 2.3.99-preX, however
this isn't really bad news as the 2.4 is due sooner rather than later, and
from 2.3 comes 2.4.
(disclaimer: I'm not a kernel hacker, nor a regular on the kernel mailing
list, I just read kernel-traffic every week)
You could try a 2.3.99-preX kernel if you want to be sure that it does
work.
So I would guess that the next Redhat release will have 2.4 in so this
should work on your box.
