Here are some iozone numbers (raid 5) for our extremeraid 1100

On local disk,
Writing the 1000 Megabyte file, './aaa'...51.780000 seconds
  Reading the file...42.980000 seconds

  IOZONE performance measurements:
20250598 bytes/second for writing the file
24396835 bytes/second for reading the file

>From a client over fast ethernet
Writing the 1000 Megabyte file, '/d/dell1v5/aa/aaa'...110.090000 seconds
 Reading the file...156.450000 seconds

 IOZONE performance measurements:
9524716 bytes/second for writing the file
6702307 bytes/second for reading the file

After struggling for about a month and still couldn't make
the extrmeRaid 1100 work with Poweredge 4400, we ordered
a megaRaid/DC from Dell. Supprisingly, it out perform the
extremeRaid by a factor of 3/2. This is with the megaRaid
driver 1.07 and fimware 3.2?).
