Hi there!
I'm using Linux-2.2.15 on my Intel-SMP-Box to do some hotsyncs between
jpilot and my Palm Vx. Everything is fine on a non-SMP machine but the
smp kernel seems to have some weird problems.
After the hotsync is done (pilot-xfer does this via /dev/ircomm0), the
system freezes (no mouse, no key response, everything's down).
Unfortunately I get no errors in the logs (perhaps there's some option
to the various irda modules to do more debugging, but I cannot figure
out, how that is done).
Although the irda-howto recently got updated it seems a bit outdated...
Things I use:
Kernel 2.2.15 (smp)
Gigabyte GA686-LX2 Motherboard, 2x 266MHz PII cpus, 192 MB RAM
irda-utils 0.9.10
Tekram serial dongle (IR-210)
jpilot-0.98
pilot-link 0.9.4
Palm Vx
Any help is greatfully appreciated. I'll try the newly arrived
2.4.0-test1-kernel later, perhaps everything went ok then?
TIA,
Frank
