Hi Henry,
I may be all wet here, but I recently had a problem with ktzset that
could be happening here. My /usr is a mount point and ktzset needed
to use the localtime files buried in /usr somewhere, but /usr wasn't
mounted yet during the boot so it never set the time correctly.
Now, if /etc is a mount point and ftape was run from kerneld before
the partitions were mounted it wouldn't see /etc/conf.modules and
then would default to it's internal compiled in settings.
Humm, just musing. Na, this couldn't happen.
