... that processor is too slow (by several generations!) for
the Ditto Max (Pro). That is a limitation of that tape drives
hardware. IIRC you'd need at least 166 MHz for barely usable
operation (no X, no nothing) and at least 266 Mhz to have X
running while using the tape.
You might be better of with an IDE or SCSI tape.
