Hi,

we are currently working here on a SA-1110 based PDA that will
come out soon. While fighting against USB, I faced the following
problem.

The system:
SA-1110 based PDA, USB over Serial Port 0 (UDC)
    Linux 2.4.18-rmk4
    Drivers in use: sa1100usb_core, usb_char
Power consumption: up to 450 mA

The problem:
After the device is in configured state, I would like to get
the power from USB host instead of consuming the local batteries.

If I understand the USB Specification 1.1 correctly, this
requires changing the power-source from self-powered to
bus-powered and setting the power maximum to 500mA (while
    switching to address state again).

The question:
Is there already any code somewhere that implements this?
And in this case: where do I have to look for it or what
can I do to activate it?

Regards

Florin Spanachi
